Equity in Practice Certificate 1: Exploring Racial Equity

Thank you for your interest in NRPA’s Equity in Practice Certificate program. NRPA’s Equity in Practice Certificates are action-oriented, and learners will develop an Equity Action Plan for themselves or their agency.

You can find out more information on the full Equity in Practice Certificate Program series here: https://learning.nrpa.org/equity-in-practice-certificate-programs.

Overview: Certificate 1
During Certificate 1: Exploring Racial Equity, learners can expect to engage in open dialogue and exchange perspectives on race equity in the field of Parks and Recreation while generating ideas for creating greater equity.

This Certificate Program consists of 6 learning blocks. Each block includes an interactive workshop during which you'll explore lots of important concepts and skills for growing equity in the field of Parks and Recreation. Each block is also supplemented with self-paced learning activities to keep learners engaged between workshops.

Learners will also be provided with a workbook to guide them through activities to advance their strategic plan between workshops.

Who is this Certificate for?
NRPA’s Equity in Practice Certificate Program Series is specifically designed for Park and Recreation professionals who are ready to bring equity to their everyday work in the field, versus talking about it generally. Everyone in this Certificate Program will have a varied level of understanding and practice in achieving equity. We all have so much to learn, and so much to contribute!
