Session Title: NRPA’s New Strategic Plan with the NRPA Board of Directors
Description: This session is being run twice at Conference. Join NRPA Board and staff leadership to learn more about NRPA’s upcoming 2025-2029 strategic plan, including the vision and goals for the plan, ideas for member engagement, and aspirations for our advocacy work.
After an intensive two-year process, the NRPA Board approved a new vision and four strategic goals to guide the work of the organization over the next five years. The plan is rooted in the fact that parks and recreation is virtually the only local government service that can positively affect all seven dimensions of wellbeing. We aim to help all park and recreation professionals and the communities they serve understand how essential parks and recreation is and how durable investment in parks and recreation has the power to deliver on an array of community benefits.
Learn how NRPA is deepening our understanding and use of the seven dimensions of well-being and how we will leverage compelling research and data with powerful storytelling to increase public support for parks and recreation. Understand how leadership knowledge, skills and strategies are key to achieving high quality park systems for all people and how NRPA will align our professional development efforts to support the leadership development across all levels in the field. Finally, learn about how NRPA will be walking the talk and building out our systems and accountability to deliver maximum value to our members.
