Discover how Atlanta is transforming its park and recreation management through its newly formed division of Data, Strategy and Innovation (DSI). Through analytics, strategy development and process analysis, DSI explores cutting-edge ideas and technology to enhance user experience, increase operational efficiency and address gaps in parks and recreation while ensuring alignment to the goals of the Activate ATL 10-Year Comprehensive Plan. Learn how the team collaborated in developing a Millage Spending Plan by leveraging data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback, ultimately establishing new financial reporting processes to ensure transparency, accountability and responsible fiscal stewardship. This session will highlight other ongoing DSI initiatives by operating area, including: 1) park operations: establishing new processes and tools, such as a Park Maintenance QA/QC Tool, Quality Parks Assessment Team, monthly ATL Stats reports, and refining the DPR Equity Data Tool, 2) recreation: developing a Recreation Assessment Tool analyzing demographics, goals and funding at each unique recreation center, 3) park design: Launching a Millage Spending Dashboard, improving Purchase Order Drawdown reporting, and identifying locations for consolidated park maintenance hubs.
