Description:
Are you really ready for an emergency at your facility? Likely you have an emergency action plan (EAP) posted on the wall or located in a binder on the shelf; however, do you fully understand your role as a leader in that plan and post-event? You have an important role in development, execution, regular practice and post-incident support. This session will take you beyond the binder and the traditional EAP plans! Perhaps you have inherited an emergency action plan, or you have developed one of your own. Whichever the case, this session will explore key components that should be included in your facility EAP and ensure that you are not in a post-crisis moment thinking, “What do I do now?” Speaking from experience, we will help you navigate developing an EAP and planning for the post-crisis fog. Your team will need a beacon in post-recovery; it is you. Are you ready?
Learning Objectives:
1. Attendees will be able to list strategies for proactively developing an effective Emergency Action Plan that addresses pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis phases.
