Ariel Mansholt is a current pediatric and adolescent occupational therapist at Playabilities for Sensational Kids located in Leawood, Kansas. Mansholt works with patients and their families ages 18 months to 21 years old with a variety of diagnoses. Mansholt was inspired to pursue a degree in occupational therapy (OT) as she participated in her own autistic brother's OT growing up as a child. Mansholt graduated from Baylor University in December of 2022. Mansholt partnered with Landscape Structures Inc. (LSI) to complete her doctoral capstone project that focused on the development of an educational presentation regarding how various pediatric conditions impact a child’s ability to play to help bridge the gap between the playground industry and the healthcare field. Mansholt has continued her work with LSI upon graduation. Mansholt uses her clinical and academic knowledge to help inform the inclusive design process and continue education to designers.
