April is a former parks and recreation practitioner, turned current Ph.D. Candidate. Her enthusiasm for the community has been present throughout her career. April has worked in public and non-profit agencies, she started in aquatics, but has also worked with participants of all ages, from tots to teens to older adults, afterschool programs, parks, youth and adult sports, contract classes for all ages, facility rentals, adaptive recreation for youth, teens, and adults, field allocations, and special events large and small. Upon deciding to return to school to pursue a degree in communication, April has been busy connecting the importance of communication in the community engagement processes. In her free time, April cheers on her kids play sports, and spends as much time outside as possible.
