JJ Fleury has worked in park planning and design for more than a decade, currently serving the role as Program Director for the Planning and Geospatial Resources Program with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. JJ earned his master’s degree in landscape architecture and taught undergraduate Spanish at UT-Austin, expanding on his undergraduate studies in Biology and Spanish linguistics.

Some of his most impacting work experience occurred during two different Peace Corps services that focused on ecotourism development in Guatemala (07-09) and the Philippines (2015-16). Mr. Fleury also spent two years building trails while camping in state parks with the Texas Conservation Corps.

His hobbies include trail running, biking, reading news and history, and exploring undeveloped areas.
