Before joining the U.S. Soccer Foundation Team in 2013, Michael Vaughan-Cherubin spent four years as program manager for United for D.C./D.C. United. In that role, Michael managed an afterschool program that taught soccer and healthy lifestyles to primarily underserved communities in Washington, D.C. Michael also served as the operations manager for PeacePlayers International in Jerusalem, Israel, from 2007 to 2010. There, he helped grow a successful program that used basketball as a tool to unite children in divided societies. From 2010 to 2013, Michael established and managed Global Game Changers, a consulting company that supported international sport-for-good initiatives. In his time at the Foundation, Michael has held several roles on the Programs and Expansion teams. He is currently the senior director of programs. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations from SUNY New Paltz. He also holds a master's degree in international peace and conflict resolution from American University.
