Abdi Mukhtar stands as a champion for community well-being, embodying leadership, mentorship and an unwavering commitment to youth work for more than twenty years. He currently serves as the Community Connections and Violence Prevention Coordinator at MPRB. He previously held pivotal roles such as Community and Family Outreach Manager at Pillsbury United Communities: Brian Coyle Center and Youth Programs and Services staff member at the Hennepin County Library System. His tenure at these institutions was marked by adept coordination of programs and projects, enriching community services and accessibility. Mukhtar’s journey also includes positions as a family advocate and outreach coordinator at the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota. Beyond his professional endeavors, Mukhtar is a devoted family man with five children, advocating for families and youth both personally and professionally. Recognized locally as an expert, writer and influential leader within the Somali American community, Abdirahman Mukhtar continues to drive positive change through his unwavering dedication to community service and empowerment.
