Community Recreation Director & Programs/Education Manager | Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) & American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)

Alex Diaz is a seasoned quality of life professional with a background in recreation and education management. He currently serves as the community recreation director at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) and a programs and education manager for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). At NBVC, Diaz oversees a multitude of recreational programs across two military installations, fostering an engaging environment for the military community. Simultaneously, at AYSO he works with the rest of the office staff to provide support to volunteer-driven programs nationwide, particularly focusing on educational initiatives. His career includes positions such as recreation manager for the City of Roswell, New Mexico (2022-2023), MWR Site Manager for SNI (2020-2022), and director of sports/youth programs for the Ventura Family YMCA (2018-2019). Diaz holds a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership and a Master of Business Administration from California Lutheran University, is pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a First Aid/CPR Instructor, Certified Youth Sports Administrator, and Certified Park and Recreation Professional.
