Viridiana Marin (Viri) was born in Puebla, Mexico. She is a dedicated advocate for her community and as a community organizer, her role revolves around listening to build trust and relationships. She believes addressing issues that directly impact the community is a fundamental starting point for bringing people together to share their stories, ideas, and take collective action.
From working on projects to help reduce food insecurity and food waste at a neighborhood level to being a community activator with the Trust for Public Land, she has used her skills to engage often overlooked communities, fostering inclusivity and access to the outdoors.
She strives for an outdoors that is safe and welcoming for all people, and believes meaningful outdoor experiences make us stronger, healthier, and happier.
Now, as the East Tennessee Community Organizer for the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), she continues her mission, working towards a more welcoming and unified city, driven by her immigrant journey and the aspirations of those making Tennessee their home.
