Veronica Myers, Director, Parks and Recreation, County of El Paso, Texas since February 5, 2018. She is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Recreation and Parks Association and graduated from UTEP with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She has worked in public service for the past 36 years and has held management positions in Parks and Recreation for over 20 years. She is a member of the National Parks and Recreation Association and the Texas Recreation And Parks Society. She has a strong and successful background in grant writing, recreation, sports and environmental education programming for all age groups, and special events operations. Through her leadership the El Paso County has garnered LWCF grants, TPWD Grants, KABOOM! Collaboration, and many community partnership contributions. El Paso County also won the NACo and ICMA Award for Inclusion and Social Equity for their All-abilities Playgrounds funded by LWCF and Moms on Board (MOB), a local non-profit organization. Their Master Plan received the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals Project Excellence Award for 2022.
