Daniel Orth is the Associate Director of NCRC’s Training Institute, having previously served as the organization’s senior project manager. For more than 19 years as a conflict resolution practitioner, facilitator, and trainer, Daniel has supported individuals, organizations, government agencies, businesses, and communities seeking to resolve conflict. He has done this by working with diverse stakeholders to analyze conflict dynamics, leading strategic planning processes, facilitating difficult conversations, equipping individuals with skills and knowledge through training opportunities, and building critical connections through network formation and management.

Daniel is the Vice Chair of the National City Community & Police Relations Commission and the former Board President for the San Diego Regional Interfaith Collaborative.

Daniel previously served as the senior program manager at the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding where he designed and implemented multi-year programs, led peacebuilding trainings, and provided conflict analysis to national and multilateral organizations to build sustainable peace in areas at risk for violent conflict. For more than five years, Daniel was a program officer at the University of San Diego’s Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice where he led international and domestic conflict resolution and violence prevention programs, including the “Building Trust Partnership” to improve police-community relations. He spent eight years working in the U.S. education system as a history teacher and instructor of first-year teachers.

Daniel holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in political science and economics from Tulane University.
