Larry Barabino, Jr. is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission. He joined NORD as the CEO in 2006, and again in 2018. As the CEO of the City of New Orleans parks and recreation commission, he manages the day-to-day operations of NORD which consist of a $20M Budget, over 190 facilities and a staff of over 300 employees during the summer months. Under Larry’s leadership, NORD received its Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) Re-Accreditation which has been awarded to only 2% of Park and Recreations agency nationally. Other career highlights include serving as the 2021 Board Chairman of the Youth and Planning Board, the Section 3 / MDBE Program Manager for the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO), working as a Mental Health Specialist, and serving as the Senior Program Coordinator at Tulane University’s National Center for the Urban Community Welfare to Work Program Initiative.
