Taj Schottland is the Associate Director of the Trust for Public Land's (TPL) national climate program. He provides leadership for the organization’s climate strategy, delivering community and equity-centered natural climate solutions that improve community resilience and reduce and sequester carbon emissions. He provides technical expertise and guidance to TPL's 30 field offices, and partners across the country, in assessing climate risk, planning and designing multi-benefit solutions, and implementing on-the-ground projects that have a meaningful and measurable community impact. He also oversee TPL's national Climate Smart Cities Program, managing place-based partnerships dedicated to climate justice and addressing the climate crisis through a unique approach to people and data-driven planning. Before joining the Trust for Public Land, he worked for the National Wildlife Federation where he managed local and regional coastal resilience projects that took a holistic and integrated approach to protecting human communities, priority habitats, and wildlife from climate-driven threats.
