Melody Mitchell is the Central, Area 5 Manager for the Chicago Park District where she oversees the budgets, programming, special events, partnerships, operations and maintenance of 12 staffed locations and 19 unstaffed locations.

Melody grew up in the Chicago Park District participating and competing in girls programs. Her involvement in these programs led her to high school and college sports participation and inspired her to coach and mentor. She has over 25 yrs in the Chicago Park District with successful program development and implementation.

Melody is a member of several committees, but her favorite is the Girls P.L.A.Y Initiative.
