Marissa Llosa is the Conservation Manager for the Houston Parks Board. Her focus is the conservation of our natural resources within the boundaries of the Bayou Greenway system, and other areas owned/maintained by Houston Parks Board. This includes up to 2800 acres of green space spread across the seven major bayou system in the city of Houston. She previously worked as a field biologist for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service for 19 years completing wetland restoration around Galveston Bay. Marissa created the Wetland Restoration Team-a crew of Master Naturalist volunteers- on prairie wetland restoration at Sheldon Lake State Park. She also restored wetlands along Brays Bayou, Sims Bayou, Buffalo Bayou, Sheldon Lake, San Jacinto River and various bay systems within Galveston Bayas part of her work as the Conservation Coordinator at the Galveston Bay Foundation. Marissa holds a B.S. Aquatic Biology and a B.A. in English Literature from Brown University, and M.S. in Ecosystem Sciences and Management from Texas A&M University.
