Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) are a fantastic funding resource for park and recreation agencies! Your fellow professionals will speak about their experiences using the funds and who in their community they partner with to make the projects a reality. By the end of the session, you will gain a high-level understanding of the program from a HUD representative and learn how to find your local CDBG representative for further information.
Learning Objectives:
1. After attending this session, attendees should be able to explain what Community Development Block Grants are.
2. After attending this session, attendees should be able to identify projects that are eligible activities for these grants and provide examples.
3. After attending this session, attendees should be able to describe the general application process and who within CDBG they can connect with for help.

One-hour education sessions (0.1 CEU) will be delivered as either Talks, Sandboxes, or Clinics.
Clinics and Sandboxes will be smaller sessions and on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure to arrive early!
- Talks will be delivered as lectures or panel sessions.
- Clinics will focus on applying concepts to real-life examples through workshop activities.
- Sandboxes are a great networking opportunity that invite participants to talk shop, compare notes and swap advice around hot topics in the field.
Twenty of the one-hour education sessions will be available on-demand through the conference app while also delivered in person.
