Description:
Interested in bringing esports to your park and recreation department but don’t know where to start? This session will give you the blueprint! Presenters Cody Wager and Justin Swaney will discuss City of Carrollton, Texas’ new esports center, and share information on how to propose esports to all levels of city management, budgeting for the construction phase and executing a dedicated esports space once open.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify a potential new dedicated esports space.
2. Learn how to budget for and understand the resources/equipment needed for a dedicated esports space.
3. Execute a variety of programming options within a dedicated esports space.

One-hour education sessions (0.1 CEU) will be delivered as either Talks, Sandboxes, or Clinics.
Clinics and Sandboxes will be smaller sessions and on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure to arrive early!
- Talks will be delivered as lectures or panel sessions.
- Clinics will focus on applying concepts to real-life examples through workshop activities.
- Sandboxes are a great networking opportunity that invite participants to talk shop, compare notes and swap advice around hot topics in the field.
Twenty of the one-hour education sessions will be available on-demand through the conference app while also delivered in person.
