Description:
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, recreational trails created opportunities. They provided a gateway to outside recreation and helped us maintain healthy habits. This session will explore how, through local collaborations, communities can increase promotion, increase funding and better understand their infrastructure to impact the local economy.
Successful collaborations increase the value of project management.
Grant management can lead to increased funding sources to provide infrastructure and amenities.
Wayfinding signage implemented in your downtown can lead to economic development.
Promotion of your community as a recreational destination leads to economic opportunities.
Trails provide a full scope of recreation management that reaches far beyond connectivity. They create a destination that increases economic development through tourism, job creation, volunteerism and public art. Trails can define a community as a place individuals want to live, work and play.
Learning Objectives:
1. After attending this session, attendees should be able to identify how to build sustainable collaborations within their community.
2. After attending this session, attendees should be able to recognize how to utilize local, state and federal funding to make an impact on your project budget.
