Description:
Are you looking for new ways to engage and inform other recreation professionals, association members, or even community members? A podcast is a perfect way to share and connect with others on hot topics, news, events and opportunities. The Minnesota Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) completed a Strategic Plan in 2021 that identified creating new ways to connect with members as a priority. This resulted in a new podcast, called "MRPA On the Air." The "Podcast Pack" will share their triumphs and tribulations with starting a quality podcast in their region. Attendees will be given a roadmap to starting their own podcast, including the equipment necessary for recording, an easy and efficient mode of editing and producing, potential topic ideas, ways of marketing the podcast, getting the podcast live and more!
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will identify ways to reduce communication barriers by providing an alternative form of communication.
2. Participants will recognize the process and tools necessary to start a podcast.
3. Participants will learn the process of successfully launching a podcast within their department or community.

- Talks will be delivered as lectures or panel sessions.
- Clinics will focus on applying concepts to real-life examples through workshop activities.
