Bio
My name is Reneshia White. I was born in Los Angeles. I'm the eldest child of 5, raised by a single mother. From as long as I could remember my mother instilled in me core values of respect, morals, self-esteem among other virtues. I grew up at the parks playing sports and participated in various recreational activities. I have been working for the City Los Angeles Department Recreation and Parks for over 24 years; I started my career off as a recreation aide and then became a recreation assistant. As a recreation assistant I oversaw the teen club with the emphasis on girl talk sessions.
Once, I received my B.A. from Cal State Dominguez Hills and my M.A. from the University of Phoenix; I was promoted to recreation coordinator and I'm currently a facility director. I use my passion, work and life experiences to program for the community. One of the programs is Pretty in Pink, which is a girls empowerment program that was created for girls to have a safe space to discuss daily challenges among women who support them. It brings me great joy to know that I'm able to reach out to the girls and to be able to provide them with the opportunity to experience this conference through many different aspects of positivity and alternative methods of coping with today's society.
